Get Your Teeth Into the Mega Millions of Eternal Love

Back in December of 2011, Microgaming presented the world with one of the most interesting vampire-themed slots ever created. We are, of course, talking about Immortal Romance, which is still a top-50 favorite at casinos across Canada and one of the most played slot machines in the world. Microgaming has given this now-iconic game a new lease of life (or should that be undeadness?) with the release of Immortal Romance Mega Moolah, nearly a decade after its first release.

Mega-Wealthy Eternal Love Story

The gameplay is essentially identical to the first Immortal Romance game. Because there’s no use in making a change only to make a change, it was probably the right call. In case you haven’t heard, this is a five-reel, 243-payline slot machine game. The story revolves around four vampires who share a common bond besides their thirst for blood.

The setting of the game is suitably foreboding and gothic. The lower-value symbols on the reels are the standard playing card values of 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A, all rendered in grey stone. Amber, Troy, Michael, and Sarah themselves, as well as a view of the exterior of the beautiful building where they live, are all high-value symbols. The Immortal Romance logo is wild, and a lion’s head door knocker is used as a scatter.

When used in a winning combination, the wild symbol will increase the payout by a factor of 2. Furthermore, the Wild Desire mechanic is always open for business. Keep an eye out for this feature because it can turn up to five reels wild at random.

The game’s graphics are top-notch across the board, and the darkly relaxing soundtrack complements them perfectly to create a convincingly enveloping gothic mood. This game can be played on a mobile device, but for the best audio-visual experience, we recommend playing it on a larger screen with the volume set to what you’d hear at a movie theater.

A Spinning Room

The Chamber of Spins is a fascinating addition to the gameplay. When three or more scatters appear anywhere on the reels, this feature is activated. Depending on the amount of times you’ve activated the feature, the following changes will be made to the character and free spins parameters:

The first button you press will make Amber available. She’ll award you 10 free spins, and any money you earn will be multiplied by 5. Additional free spins may be retriggered.

The sixth button presses make Troy available. You’ll start with 15 free spins and, at random, vampire bats will turn symbols into 2x or 3x multipliers.

At the ninth button, Michael becomes available. You get 20 free rolls on the Rolling Reels here. A multiplier can increase by a maximum of 5x for each consecutive win during the Rolling Reels feature.

The sixteenth trigger makes Sarah accessible. With the third reel occupied by the Wild Vine symbol, you’ll be awarded 25 free games. When this emerges, it will substitute itself for any other symbol in play. In this mode, you can win an additional 1, 2, 3, or 4 free spins by landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols.
